Skype video calls are nothing new, this is for sure. The thing is, what are some of the other ways in which one will be able to take advantage of a Skype video call, perhaps to make it all the more artistic? Well, Elisa Perez has figured out a method that has surely not been thought up of – or at least, even if it has been done, it has not been publicized in such a way. Perez happens to be a talented painter who loves Skype, and she has decided to elevate the art of portraiture to a whole new level, with the latest project being known as Screen Face. Screen Face will portray people as they are, while they chat over a Skype video call. Just remember to keep you clothes on!
Elisa Perez shared, “The idea for the project started while I was doing an Erasmus course in Brussels. Most contact with friends and family back in Spain was mainly via Skype.” During such Skype-enabled conversations, it gave her enough time to reflect on the numerous methods in which the Internet actually influenced face-to-face interaction.
Hence, she decided to use her artistic skills to launch Screen Face, and this process would include painting the portraits of those on “the other line”. What do you think of such an effort? It is laudable to say the least. [Press Release]
