Drone Vandalism Era Arrives
It looks like the age of drone vandalism has taken off, if you will pardon the pun. Drones have gotten its fair share of news recently, including one that has been developed by Lockheed Martin to help locate missing people, while another depicts a drone that has fallen in love with a woman. This time around, we will touch on the idea of robotic graffiti, in other words, drone vandalism. KATSU, a famous graffiti artist and vandal, decided to make use of a hacked Phantom drone in order to have it paint a giant red scribble across Kendall Jenner’s face, which so happens to be plastered on one of the largest and most viewed billboards in New York City.
I would suppose that this makes it the first time that a drone is involved in a major act of public vandalism, now how about that? KATSU has certainly graced headlines before in the past, including a year ago, where he showed how he has attached a spray can to an off-the-shelf DJI Phantom drone successfully, and it looks like this particular “invention”, or rather, modification, of his is going to alter the way street art is presented.
KATSU cheerfully shared, “It turned out surprisingly well. It’s exciting to see its first potential use as a device for vandalism.”
