A whole slew of devices these days are powered by USB, and hence, it is no surprise at all to see USB chargers being a regular feature in most, if not all homes. Apart from that, since USB ports are more or less universal, it should not be too much of an issue to power them regardless of where you travel to. Chris Hawker, the person behind the Power Squid, intends to place USB ports close to your rear end, hence the Indiegogo project that is known as the Couchlet.
The Couchlet happens to be a foldable USB power system which can be placed right between your couch cushions or mattresses, where you can then plug in your devices and relax, as your power hungry devices continue to get juiced up, while you can opt to remain seated or lying down. The asking price stands at $16 a pop, which is highly affordable for sure – especially when it is for two! After all, it comes with a folding arm which will be wedged under your mattress, where a fold out leg would offer you additional stability and the ability to slide the Couchlet onto the outside of your furniture. Best of all is, it has a low voltage, which means it will be as safe as the charging cord which is part of your handset’s “arsenal”.
