The upside to owning a gaming PC and playing games on the PC is that the graphics quality of the game will depend on the hardware of your PC. If you have a high-end rig you can bump the resolution to 4K and still enjoy a buttery-smooth 60fps, but on console it will have to depend on the hardware used by the console maker, as well as how well developers optimize their game for said hardware.
That being said it’s not all bad news. For gamers who are looking forward to Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and was wondering how it would run on their PlayStation 4, you will be pleased to learn that according to the developer, the game will run at a Full HD 1080p resolution on the PS4 while holding a 60fps framerate, although given that the game is still in development these numbers might change later, but hopefully it won’t.
As for Microsoft’s Xbox One, Treyarch did not provide any numbers just yet, but given that last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare only managed to switch between 900p and 1080p (depending on the intensity of the fight), we can only assume that Black Ops 3 will at the very least have a 900p resolution, but maybe Treyarch will surprise us all.
In the meantime for those wondering when the game will be released, it has been recently reported that the game has been pegged for a 6th of November 2015 launch so gamers who are interested should mark that down on their calendars.
