So you’ve pre-ordered yourself a Samsung Galaxy S6 or a Galaxy S6 Edge from AT&T, you receive the device, and you try to turn it on but it won’t. Now before you freak out and think you’ve received a defective unit, you can rest easy because it seems that all it might need is for it to charge.
According to the folks at PhoneArena, they have received a tip from an AT&T source who told them there might be an issue with the packaging of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. Apparently both devices have a chance of turning itself on during transit, which of course means that it is draining battery unnecessarily and by the time it reaches the customer, there is a good chance its battery could be flat.
The memo received by PhoneArena tells AT&T employees that should a customer come in with such a complaint that they should tell them to just charge their phones for a few minutes. It is also because the phones are completely dead that it might take a few minutes before they are able to turn it back on.
This isn’t a particularly huge deal but in the event that you do receive a dead Galaxy S6/S6 Edge out of the box, perhaps trying out this method before calling AT&T could be a good idea. In the meantime the carrier has reportedly begun to ship out units of the device ahead of schedule.
