Earlier this year there were signs that ASUS could be planning on launching a new wearable called the ASUS VivoWatch. This will not be ASUS’ first wearable as it follows the ASUS ZenWatch from last year, but unlike the ZenWatch, it seems that the VivoWatch promises a much, much better battery life.
The ASUS VivoWatch was recently launched although it seems that its launched positioned it as more of a fitness tracker than a smartwatch which we suppose helps with battery life. According to ASUS, they claim that the VivoWatch will be able to last a good 10 days without charging, compared to the ASUS ZenWatch which has a battery life of a 1-2 days depending on how you use it.
Details of the fitness tracker are a bit scarce at the moment but according to ASUS, the VivoWatch will sport a stainless steel body, an IP67 rating for both water and dust resistance, and will come with heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking. It will sport a black and white display which no doubt helps with battery conservation, and it looks like it will run on its own operating system versus Android Wear.
No word on pricing or availability just yet, but the company states that more details will be shared about the device during the Milan Design Week which will be kicking off tomorrow, so do check back with us then for the details.
