I am quite sure that the dust has more or less settled concerning the highly sought after Apple Watch, and it looks as though there has been no shortage of torture tests for the Apple Watch, be it in the kitchen or done in a scientific manner. Well, it seems that the $349 Apple Watch Sport edition that comes with an Ion-X glass screen is not going to amount to much, taking into consideration how its ‘durable’ screen actually shattered when the watch’s face hit the ground first.
Do bear in mind that any kind of screen damage is not covered where free repairs are concerned for the warranty that deals with the Apple Watch. At least the waterproof claims do live up with what Apple has mentioned, as the timepiece managed to work just as well despite being submerged 15 minutes in a swimming pool.
In the drop test, the results were disappointing to say the least, especially when you consider how the Apple Watch was dropped from a height of a mere four feet – less than that, actually. So much for Apple’s claim that this timepiece with its Ion-X glass display is ‘protected by a lightweight aluminosilicate glass that’s especially resistant to scratches and impact.’
