Apple Watch Pre-Orders Slip, June Shipping Expected

The Apple Watch has already had its first round of reviews in, despite the piece of wearable technology itself not being in the market as at press time. To rub some salt into the wound, those who place their pre-orders and expect an end of April shipping date will be disappointed to know that the anticipation of April 24th will have to be shelved for the moment, as the shipping date has slipped to June for select models of the Apple Watch. The reason behind this apparent delay? “Supply constraints”, or so they say.

So far, there has been 38 different models of the Apple Watch being made available for pre-order through Apple’s online stores across nine countries: namely Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. Heck, even the priciest of them all, the Edition range of Apple Watches has been listed as shipping in June on the Apple US and Apple UK webstores.

While it is not impossible to hunt down select models that will ship within 4 to 6 weeks’ time, most of them happen to hail from the mid-level priced Watch range, instead of the far more affordable Sport or the crazy expensive premium Edition line. Apart from that, there are several models on Apple’s Chinese webstore which have also been listed to come with June shipping, and not only that, select Edition models have been listed with the dreaded ‘Not in stock’ notice.
