At the moment the Apple Watch bands that are available are currently made by Apple. While they do look good, they are also limited in terms of choices, but the good news is that Apple could be thinking of allowing third-party manufacturers to create Apple Watch bands in the future.
This is according to the Apple Watch User Guide that was recently published by Apple. According to the document in which part of it talks about taking care of your Apple Watch band, the Cupertino company makes reference to “Apple authorized bands”, hinting that third-party bands could be on its way.
Previously we have seen some Apple Watch band adapters launched on crowdfunding websites where they aim to create an adapter that will allow all kinds of bands. It is unclear if this will be approved by Apple, but for those who’d rather have the peace of mind knowing that the band they bought was approved by Apple, then you’ll want to keep an eye out for them.
No word on when Apple plans to start authorizing third-party manufacturers to make Apple Watch bands, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for them. In the meantime the Apple Watch will be released later today and is expected to start shipping to customers in the US. Those in Australia have reportedly received their units already.
