Over the past couple of weeks Amazon has expanded its one-hour delivery service to a handful of new markets. Amazon Prime Now was first launched back in December last year and serviced only some parts of Manhattan. Earlier this year the company expanded this service for the first time to cover Manhattan and some parts of Brooklyn. Soon after expanding Prime Now to Miami, Baltimore and Dallas, Amazon announced today that its one-hour delivery service is now available to customers in Atlanta.
There’s a separate app for Amazon Prime Now which can be used to order tens of thousands of essential items to be delivered in under one-hour. Prime Now is offered as an added incentive to Amazon Prime members. They get two-hour delivery for free and can opt for delivery in one-hour provided they pay an additional $7.99.
Amazon announced today that Prime Now is launching in selected Atlanta zip codes today will be quickly expanded to cover additional zip codes in the city. Residents of the city can download the app for iOS and Android which will notify them automatically when Prime Now goes live in their local area.
As always, Amazon is reiterating its commitment to Prime Now, and says that it will continue to expand this service to additional cities throughout this year.
