According to a new report Microsoft and Remedy Entertainment are in talks to port the original Alan Wake to the Xbox One. Remedy’s CEO Sam Lake has revealed that while nothing has been set in stone just yet they are discussing the possibility with Microsoft. He personally would love to see this happen but it remains to be seen if a deal can be worked out with Microsoft.
Speaking to Polygon, Lake said that if this does happen the release will most likely include all DLC content that was released after the game arrived. Remedy Entertainment owns the franchise but the original title was published by Microsoft.
When asked about the possibility of the first Alan Wake title appearing on platforms like PlayStation 4 or Wii U Lake said that’s “highly unlikely,”
Once Remedy is done with Quantum Break it might turn its attention towards a sequel for Alan Wake. The possibility exists that if Microsoft doesn’t pick up Alan Wake 2 for the Xbox One it could still be published, and might even make its way to rival platforms like PlayStation 4.
Lake said that Remedy is not ruling anything out as far as the sequel goes but nothing can be said for sure at the moment.
