Acer has made a lot of hardware for Google’s Chrome OS. Actually Acer was the very first OEM that launched a laptop powered by Chrome OS. Since then the company has released many Chromebooks and then it went on to make Chromeboxes as well. Now Acer is introducing a Chromebase. It’s an all-in-one desktop PC with a touchscreen that’s powered by Google’s cloud based operating system.

The Chromebase from Acer has a 21.5-inch 1,920×1080 pixel resolution touchscreen IPS display with 178 degree viewing angles as well as support for 10 point multitouch input.

Under the hood there is an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor. No details have been provided as yet about the RAM or internal storage. The Chromebase does have USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and stereo 3W speakers. An HD webcam is present as well.

Acer isn’t the first hardware partner that has come up with a Chrome OS powered AiO. LG released one almost a year back so this idea is not new, but this is Acer’s first Chromebase, and if the response is good then we might see the company launch a refreshed model about a year from now.

The company hasn’t said exactly how much it will charge for the Chromebase, we’re still waiting on that information, Acer is also yet to confirm when the Chromebase will be released in the market.
