Many of you might have heard about YotaPhone 2. Like its predecessor it is an Android-powered smartphone with two displays. Apart from the conventional one up front the YotaPhone 2 has an e-paper display on the back. It was never launched in the United States but that might change soon. The smartphone is expected to be launched this summer in the U.S.
According to Phone Scoop, YotaPhone is planning an Indiegogo campaign, which it is going to launch this spring. Through this campaign the company is going to sell the YotaPhone 2. The price tag is likely to be around $600 that’s because these will be off-contract and unlocked units.
The company will see just how successful its latest smartphone can get in the country before deciding if it wants to release the device through third-party retailers like Best Buy and Amazon.
As far as compatibility with U.S. carriers goes the YotaPhone 2 should work on both AT&T and T-Mobile with support for their LTE networks.
The company is currently working on the Lollipop update for this device and expects that the update will be ready when the time comes to release YotaPhone 2 in the U.S. Early campagin backers will receive additional incentives though the report says these haven’t been finalized as yet.
