The selfie trend has caught on, whether you like it or not, which is why many smartphone manufacturers today are offering much better front cameras in their devices. Some are even marketing their smartphones as “selfie phones” to make sure customers know what that particular device does best. Sony launched one of its own, the Xperia C3, which has a front facing flash and a 5 megapixel shooter for selfies. Pictures of the as yet unannounced “Xperia Cosmos” have appeared online, it might be the successor to the Xperia C3
Image of this device was leaked by the Twitter leakster @upleaks. From the looks of it the Xperia Cosmos appears to be a mid-range smartphone that has a LED flash up front.
There is no information as yet on the specifications of this smartphone. It does appear to be running Android 5.0 Lollipop. That is to be expected though since it’s a new device and Lollipop is the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.
Sony had only released the Xperia C3 in certain markets where it believed such a device would catch on. These included some emerging markets in Asia. The possibility exists that Xperia Cosmos might go down the same route.
No word from Sony as yet about the existence of this device, or if and when it will arrive in the market.
