For those hearing about this for the first time, basically Force Touch is another way for users to interact with the device depending on how hard they are pressing on the surface. For example a light touch could indicate a selection, but a harder touch might be interpreted as calling up a secondary menu or functions not shown on the screen.
Interestingly enough this was what Apple did when they introduced a multi-touch phone and where the feature was later introduced to the MacBook lineup, so in this case it looks like Apple’s next iPhone could be borrowing some features from other Apple products. It remains to be seen if such a feature would arrive, but it doesn’t seem like too big a stretch of the imagination.
The Wall Street Journal’s report has also suggested that Apple could be looking to offer a new color option to its iPhone lineup in the form of pink. The report claims that the pink finish is currently being tested and it is unclear if it will make the final cut. The report should probably be taken with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? A pink iPhone, anyone?
