According to various reports, a VAIO-branded smartphone has recently been certified over in Japan. The handset has the model number VA-10J and apparently it has been approved by Japanese authorities back in December of 2014, meaning that if and when it is released, it will be allowed to go on sale in the country.
In fact as you can see in the photos above, it looks like the alleged packaging of the handset has surfaced which bears the VAIO brand on the cover. Of course it is possible that the photos are fake as it does not seem too difficult to fake a branding on a black box, so do take it with a grain of salt for now. As far as specs are concerned, the VA-10J does not appear to be a high-end device.
It is said to come with a 5-inch 720p HD display and a quad-core chipset under the hood with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. No word on when the handset will be launched but we will be keeping our eyes peeled for it.
