Now we’re sure some of you guys are a bit confused, after all didn’t HTC announce that the handset will be only available on the 10th of April? That is true, the handset will be available for purchase via carriers on the 10th of April where customers can get the handset at a subsidized price. However the 27th of March release is for those who don’t mind paying full price for the handset, but you will need to find your own carrier and mobile phone plan.
The handset will also come with HTC’s Uh-Oh protection plan which basically offers customers a free phone replacement in the event that your screen is cracked, suffers from water damage, or if you switch carrier and will have to give the phone back. These are instances which are usually not covered by manufacturers so it’s definitely an added perk.
Customers who are able to survive going a whole year without claiming on the Uh-Oh protection will be given $100 credit towards the purchase of another HTC handset, presumably with the intention of encouraging users to upgrade to the HTC One M10 in 2016.
