The show’s creator and executive producer has confirmed today that The X-Files is returning to Fox as a limited series with just six episodes. “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” Chris Carter said, adding that “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
One thing that fans will really love is that the original cast is also coming back. David Duchovny returns to his role as Agent Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson takes up the role of Agent Dana Scully once again. Chris Carter will be behind the wheel as always.
Fox has not year determined an airdate for The X-Files limited series so there is no confirmation as yet when the first of six episodes will air on the network.
