Screenshots Show WhatsApp Voice Calls Could Be Headed For iOS Soon

whatsapp-ios-voice-calling-screenshotsAs some of you might have heard, WhatsApp’s voice calling feature is said to be slowly rolling out to Android users, but what about iOS users? Are iOS users in for a long wait? Perhaps not, thanks to a handful of screenshots which shows that the feature has been spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS.

Given that this is only in the beta version, it means that it is not available to all WhatsApp users on iOS yet, but at least based on this we can tell that WhatsApp is slowly getting the feature ready for iOS devices upon its rollout, whenever that will be. Users will be able to call other users by pressing the phone icon which will be displayed next to their contact’s display photo.

There is also a new “Recent” tab which shows your call history, such as calls made, calls received, and missed calls. As for Android users who are looking to get the feature, all you need is the latest version of WhatsApp, which can be downloaded via the Google Play Store, and you will need to know someone with the feature already.

Once that person calls you using the WhatsApp voice call, it will then activate the feature on your phone, sort of like an invite system. At the moment that seems like one of the few ways you will be able to get it activated on your Android device, but we’re not sure if it applies to the iOS version as well.
