Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology was designed to help speed up the charging process on our mobile devices. This can come in handy when you need to quickly recharge your smartphone before heading out or if you don’t have a lot of time to sit around and wait. In general it’s just more efficient, but how much more efficient?
Sure, we’ve heard and seen the numbers offered by Qualcomm, but if you’d like a more visual demonstration of the speed of Quick Charge 2.0, you might be interested to learn that Qualcomm has recently put together a video which shows how fast their charging technology is. To demonstrate this, Qualcomm has pitted the Motorola Turbo Charger against two conventional chargers.
One of the conventional charges is a 5Volts/1Amp charger, while the other is a 5Volts/2Amps charger. As you can see in the video above, it is pretty obvious that the Turbo Charger from Motorola is clearly the winner as it charges up much faster than the other two. Granted there could be certain factors like apps running in the background that might hinder the charging speed, but at the rate the Motorola Turbo Charger moved, it seems that those differences are negligible.
The handsets used in the video are that of the Nexus 6, so in terms of hardware they are identical. So, does this video make you want to get a handset that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology?
