Sony is a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood so it didn’t really come as a surprise when the company announced that it will produce the very first original series for PlayStation. We found out late last year that this series will be called Powers. It is based on a graphic novel of the same name and happens to be the first scripted original series to have ever been produced for PlayStation.
The idea is to keep Powers exclusive to PlayStation devices, at least initially, but Sony is giving everyone a taste of this series so they can decide whether or not they want to follow it.
Those who don’t have a PlayStation console can now watch the entire first episode of Powers on YouTube. Sony will most definitely not be releasing further episodes for free on YouTube. The first episode has been released for free in an attempt to attract people.
First episode of this original series runs 53 minutes and can be streamed in its entirely from YouTube. Powers stars Sharlto Copley and Susan Heyward as two homicide detectives so particularly work on superpower-related homicides.
Sony isn’t the only company that has released an original series for its console. Last year Microsoft release Halo: Nightfall for Xbox which will now be released on Blu-ray and DVD for people who didn’t catch it on the company’s console.
