Even before Microsoft formally announced Windows 10 we heard rumors that the company was working on a completely new web browser under the Project Spartan codename. The Spartan browser was then confirmed when Windows 10 was unveiled in January and it’s the Internet Explorer replacement for Windows 10. So far none of the preview builds have included the new browser Microsoft has confirmed today that the next Windows 10 preview release will include a test version of Spartan.
Kevin Gallo, the technical lead for Windows universal apps at Microsoft, made this confirmation today at the Mobile World Congress 2015.
Gallo didn’t reveal exactly when the next Windows 10 preview build will be released, chances are that it might be released in this month.
During a press event today at Mobile World Congress, Microsoft demonstrated Project Spartan on Windows 10 for phones briefly. The look and feel of the browser on a mobile device is similar to its desktop counterpart so its safe to assume that Windows 10 for both platforms will include Project Spartan from the get go.
It has also been reported that Microsoft is planning to release Office apps for Windows 10 for Phones over the next few weeks. The release is also expected to take place within this very month.
