It has been known for a while now that the next Mass Effect title is under production. Today BioWare cinematic director Ken Thain gave us all a behind the scenes glimpse at the next Mass Effect game. Motion capture for the title is well and truly underway at TheCaptureLab in Vancouver, Canada.
An image of the motion capture set was tweeted out by Ken Thain. “Getting our motions on at TheCaptureLab in Vancouver. A very cool scene for the next #MassEffect,” he wrote.”
BioWare confirmed late last year that the new Mass Effect title is going to be written by Halo 4’s lead writer. No details about the title’s story have been provided as yet but BioWare did say at one point that it will focus on exploration.
Gamers will get to play with the Mako again in the upcoming title. Mako is an all terrain vehicle which can be piloted on the surface on planets.
Since the new title is not going to follow the Mass Effect trilogy’s Commander Shepard, BioWare says that calling it Mass Effect 4 is going to be a “disservice” to the game.
The game is said to include an online component as well but no details have been provided as yet about this integration. Obviously there’s no expected release date at this point in time.
