Motorola recently announced the second generation Moto E smartphone that brings several improvements for the popular entry level Android device. Verizon was one of the carriers that confirmed it would be selling that device. Today customers interested in picking one up from Big Red can go ahead to visit Verizon’s website to purchase the new Moto E.

Since this is meant to be an entry level handset it’s not that expensive. Prepaid customers on Verizon can purchase the device for $99.99. They don’t have to sign up to any two year contracts to go with the Verizon Edge equipment installment plan. $99.99 is the outright price for this device on Verizon.

According to Verizon’s website the new Moto E is available to ship immediately. The website isn’t showing an option to pick it up in stores just yet but it should arrive in due time.

The new Moto E brings a slightly larger display, 4.5-inches, and there’s even a slightly powerful Qualcomm processor under the hood. The biggest addition is support for 4G LTE which means it can work on Verizon’s high-speed data network.

Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed on the handset and that’s a big plus, some devices like the newer Droid Turbo and the first-generation Moto X are still waiting for their Lollipop update.
