Reports coming in from Germany suggest that Activision is going to announce a new Guitar Hero title next month. Apparently Activision has started to send out invites to German media and next month they’ll visit its event to see a new Guitar Hero game being introduced. It has already been reported previously that Activision is working on a new Guitar Hero title so there have definitely been some whispers about it.
Activision’s event is reportedly going to take place on April 1st at “Hamburg Rock City.” Attendees are invited to “rock the shack with us!.”
According to reports the language of Activision’s invitation reveals that the event is about a rhythm game that puts rock music front and center. That sounds a lot like Guitar Hero to be honest.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock was the last title in this franchise and it was released back in September 2010. Clearly the time is ripe for a new entry in this franchise.
Even Activision’s competition is looking to get back into this arena. Harmonix has already confirmed that it is working on Rock Band 4 which it plans on releasing for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.
So far Activision has neither confirmed nor denied these reports.
