It has been some time since Apple rolled out iOS 8.2 (which in reality, is actually iOS 8.1.3), and you can bet your bottom dollar that one of the frequently asked questions concerning iOS 8.2 would be this – is it actually possible to jailbreak iOS 8.2? If one were to rely on a simplistic answer, it would be a resounding “No!”.
It must be said that jailbreaking iOS 8.1.2 or lower is possible, but when it comes to iOS 8.1.3, Apple did patch a fair number of vulnerabilities which was used by the TaiG jailbreak and PPJailbreak tools, meaning such old ways are no longer available to be used. Not only that, Apple did also patch a different vulnerability in iOS 8.2, hence the tools mentioned are useless when it comes to jailbreaking iOS 8.1.3 at the moment.
As to whether iOS 8.2 will be jailbroken eventually, that remains to be seen – it really depends a whole lot on the teams who are old hands at this, and until the day they find a workaround of Apple’s patches, pretty much nothing will happen. Good luck to those looking for flaws and security loopholes!
As for majority of you who are happy with your stock iPhone experience without being bothered about stuff like jailbreaking, life goes on like normal.
