Microsoft Lumia 640 And Lumia 640 XL Announced

lumia-640-xl-1[MWC 2015] Forget about the unofficial or accidental leak – the Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL have both been announced officially, so you can be sure that folks who are rocking to the Windows Phone platform, or would like to make the jump, would be able to enjoy another two different models. After all, new Windows-powered smartphone models are few and far in between, so much so that any new release is worth checking out, what more handsets by Microsoft itself.

While both of these smartphones will be powered by Windows Phone 8.1, they will be able to be upgraded to Windows 10 by the time that particular operating system version arrives, which would then be able to deliver a greater level of personal computing as well as productivity.

The Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL will both arrive with 1GB of internal memory and a powerful quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The Lumia 640 will feature a 5” High Definition display, whereas the Lumia 640 XL will live up to its name – which would boast of 5.7” of screen area. As for the battery capacity, the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL will come with 2,500mAh and 3,000mAh batteries, respectively.

At the back of the Lumia 640 lies an 8MP camera, while the Lumia 640 XL will boast of a 13MP ZEISS optics camera, and both of them will feature a front-facing camera for Skype video calls. Apart from LTE connectivity, there will also be Dual SIM capability alongside the Smart Dual SIM feature that ensures how people will not have to miss a call – ever.

Expect the Lumia 640 XL to arrive globally this March in matte cyan, orange and black, matte and glossy white colors, while the Lumia 640 is set to arrive a month later in glossy cyan, orange and white, and matte black shades.
