It was reported earlier today by many outlets that Mass Effect 3 had gone free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers on the PlayStation 3. That’s actually not the case. The title’s price has been slightly reduced for subscribers. What threw most people off was the fact that only a one hour trial of this game is being offered for free to all PS Plus subscribers.
With PlayStation Plus, Sony provides subscribers with quite a few free games every month. This service is available for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. People who have the newer console actually require a PS Plus subscription in order to play games online.
Many reports today claimed that Mass Effect 3 is available free to PS Plus subscribers on PlayStation 3 until April 16th. It wasn’t immediately clear if the title was part of next month’s PS Plus lineup as well.
That’s actually not the case despite the fact that the full title appeared as such on the PlayStation Store. There is a one hour trial available for free to all PS Plus subscribers on the PS3. They can take advantage of it right now before they decide whether or not they want to purchase the full title.
Today we also got a behind the scenes glimpse at the next Mass Effect title which is currently being developed.
