Microsoft took the opportunity to roll out not one, but a couple of new Lumia handsets at this year’s edition of Mobile World Congress. The two smartphones in question would be the Microsoft Lumia 640 as well as its sibling, the larger sized Lumia 640 XL (you can tell by the name alone, right?) Well, it seems that the Lumia 640 simply cannot wait to bolt from the stables, since it is now available for pre-order over in Germany, France and UK on the Microsoft Store.
However, at each of the three different countries’ stores, there are inconsistencies to be found. In France and Germany, the Dual-SIM version of the handset is offered, whereas the UK store does seem to have listed down the single-SIM variant. Not only that, pricing details do seem to differ from one another as well, with the German store slapping a EUR 159 price tag, while the French would apparently have to fork out EUR 179 for the same handset, which could be explained away via tax differences. However, the single-SIM model is going for GBP 169.99 – which is roughly EUR 236, so hopefully more official details will be revealed sooner rather than later to clear up any confusion. On paper, it seems that buying one from Germany makes the most financial sense.
