LG Expands Minibeam Projector Range

LG might be a whole lot more famous for their OLED TVs as well as smartphones, in addition to other kinds of consumer electronics devices, but this does not mean that they have neglected another market segment – the projector niche. Having said that, LG intends to introduce a couple of portable projectors under the Minibeam family – and we are looking at the Minibeam Pro (Model PF1500) alongside the smaller Minibeam TV (Model PW800), with the former being touted as the perfect portable home theater solution, while the latter is said to be an on-the-go TV solution.

One of the classic hallmarks of LG Minibeam projectors would be their lightweight form factor that offers a whole lot more portability as opposed to conventional projectors. Since both projectors cat fit easily in a backpack or tote, they are also easy to use as a matter of seconds are required to set it up. Wireless connectivity will also enable easy content mirroring to a smartphone, tablet PC or laptop, and with the LED illumination system lifespan being rated at an estimated 30,000 hours, that would mean viewers can enjoy their Minibeam projectors 8 hours-a-day for over ten years in theory without having to go through any replacement process.

The LG Minibeam Pro with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) happens to be the flagship model, where it weighs a mere 1.5kg, and yet outputs 1400 ANSI lumens at an image size of 120” diagonal. There is no word on pricing details as at press time, but it is said that both of the PF1500 and PW800 models will be available from this month onward in the US and South Korea before arriving in other worldwide markets.
