Microsoft has just made an announcement, citing that Lenovo will offer the Windows 10 upgrade services all over China, the world’s most populous country, from the middle of this year onward. Other than that, Lenovo is also touted to work alongside Microsoft in order to churn out additional handsets which will run on the Windows Phone platform, which is a good thing when you think about it. After all, consumers love to have choices in their hands, and that is always a good thing, albeit it can be a confusing one, too.
It was in the previous year that Microsoft made an announcement, citing the addition of new hardware partners who will help to develop devices that run on the Windows Phone platform, and Lenovo happened to be one of them. However, as of today, there has not been a single Windows Phone smartphone or phablet from Lenovo – which is a bummer, really. Well, all of that looks set to change with Lenovo penciling in plans to roll out smartphones that run on the Windows 10 platform from the middle of this year onward via China Mobile. However, if you happen to reside outside of China, there has been no word as to the actual timeline for such a handset to be released. [Press Release]
