Kirin 930 Chipset Detailed By Huawei
Huawei is certainly a company that is on the ascendant, as they have made some notable progress where its in-house chipsets are concerned. In fact, this is a commendable trait from them despite the flop that was the Kirin 910 which was incorporated into the Ascend P7. Iterations after the Kirin 910 were certainly a whole lot more impressive, and this time around, it seems that Huawei has decided to share more information on the Kirin 930 chipset that is said to be the “brain” behind their flagship device, which happens to be the MediaPad X2 tablet that was announced earlier this month.
It seems that the processor within the SoC will boast of a reworked version of the Cortex-A53 cores, which is also known as Cortex-A53E, where it has been clocked to touch the 2.0GHz mark. A quartet of these would function as performance cores in the big.LITTLE setup, while the other four will handle the less heavy hitting tasks.
Huawei preferred not to make use of the Cortex-A57 cores that naturally pack more punch, as the performance increase is not worth the additional power consumption, and since Huawei has a pretty strong stance on how energy efficient their devices should be, this makes plenty of sense.
