At MWC 2015, Huawei took the wraps off their Android Wear device, the Huawei Watch. It seems that more companies these days are starting to head down the luxury watch route, what with the Moto 360 and the LG Watch Urbane, which is why it didn’t exactly come as a surprise to see Huawei follow suit.
That being said while the Huawei Watch looks amazing, no word on how much it will be priced. According to the folks at BGR, they claim to have heard from their source that the Huawei Watch might come with a rather hefty price tag to the tune of $1,000. We’re not sure how Huawei plans on justifying it, but boy is $1,000 a lot to pay for a smartwatch!
Of course it is entirely possible that the $1,000 price tag could simply be a rumor and nothing more, but it is also possible that it might be referring to a special edition version of the watch that might be coated in gold or use precious stones that makes it more luxurious. Then again there have been rumors that Apple’s own Apple Watch could be priced above the $1,000 mark so perhaps it might not be such a stretch.
In any case what do you guys make of this rumor? Is the Huawei Watch compelling enough that would make you want to drop $1,000 for it?
