The HTC One M9 was originally supposed to launch in Taiwan earlier this week but due to reported issues with its software, it was delayed. However the good news for our friends and readers in Taiwan is that if you were looking forward to getting your hands on the phone, you will be pleased to learn that it has a new official release date.
This is according to HTC Taiwan’s Facebook page in which the company announced the availability of the phone. The handset will be priced at around $700 for the 32GB model and around $750 for the 64GB model. The former will be made available on the 21st of March, which is tomorrow, but if you’d rather have the model with the larger storage, you’ll have to wait until the 27th of March instead.
Those in the US can look forward to the handset’s release on the 10th of April so it seems that whatever it was that delayed the Taiwan release has not affected the US release. It has been said that the HTC One M9 was experiencing overheating issues which was evidenced in a benchmark test.
However HTC claims that the test was based on non-finalized software and according to a recent report, the software has been finalized and the handset’s temperature has been brought down significantly, which might explain why HTC is now ready to release the device.
