Early last month we reported that HTC had a new Desire handset in the works that went by the name “Desire A55”. As it turns out the A55 name was not for a Desire handset, but is the model number for an upcoming HTC One handset. According to a report by @upleaks, it seems that HTC is gearing up to launch the HTC One E9 later this month.
The One E9 will be another flagship phone from HTC which is a bit odd considering that the company recently unveiled the HTC One M9 at MWC 2015 this week. However it is possible that the phone could be targeted at a different market like what HTC has done with some of its models, but given the rumored specs of the HTC One E9, we’re sure many are hoping it would arrive for their market.
In case you forgot, the HTC One E9 will be packing some pretty impressive hardware under its hood. For starters it is said to feature a 5.5-inch QHD display, making it the first of HTC’s phones to sport such a high resolution, a feature that we’re sure some were disappointed to learn was not on the HTC One M9.
The phone will also be powered by a MediaTek MT6795 64-bit processor clocked at 2GHz and will be accompanied by 3GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, BoomSound speakers, and will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop. There are also whispers of a 20MP rear-facing camera and a 13MP front-facing camera. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us later this month for the details.
