Laptops that have the ability to double up as tablets are pretty common these days, and if you’re after such a device you might be interested to learn that HP has announced the HP Spectre x360, a laptop which the company is calling its “most premium” computer to date, and while there are some specs that we think could have been better, the build and overall specs do make for a pretty compelling device.
The Spectre x360 will come with an aluminum body and will sport a display that has the ability to flip around to become a tablet. Its display is of the 13.3-inch variety so if you’d rather not lug around a 15-inch or 17-inch laptop, the HP Spectre x360 should be just right. However like we said if there’s one thing we would have preferred is if its display had a higher than 1080p resolution, but that’s just a minor quibble, but there is a QHD option if customers are willing to pay for that upgrade.
Other than that, the HP Spectre x360 will be powered by an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, depending on your configuration, and will be able to support as much as 8GB of RAM. It will also come with an SSD ranging from 128GB up to 512GB, and according to HP they claim that the Spectre x360 has a battery life that will range between 10-12.5 hours, although we reckon this will really depend on how you use your laptop.
Other than that, the laptop will come with a host of ports and connectivity options, such as USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, HDMI port, a Mini DisplayPort, a backlit keyboard, an extra wide trackpad, and it will come shipped with Windows 8.1 preinstalled. If all of this sounds like a laptop you might be interested in, HP is selling it starting at $899 and will go p to $1,399 depending on how you configure it.
