The Half-Life 2: Update, which is Valve-endorsed and is a fan-created mod, will be releasing on Steam tomorrow, free of cost. Thanks to the Romanian modder, Filip Victor, who stepped in to release the last version of the graphics update for the game.
The update size is 7GB and it comes with several visual improvements, comprising of enhanced lighting effects and better detailed environmental textures. The update also fixes many bugs present in the original PC release.
Sometime back this month, at the Games Developer Conference (GDC), Valve revealed that it was experimenting with Half-Life in virtual reality. It would be interesting to see if the franchise ever makes it entry into the Virtual Reality and the prospects of the VR experience seem pretty promising.
