[MWC 2015] You know for sure that the world of wearable technology is certainly growing by leaps and bounds – especially when you take into consideration how there are more and more companies introducing their very own take on what a smartwatch ought to look like – and be. With the Apple Watch being in the pipeline, things would pick up even more from there. Having said all of that, Haier of China has just come up with their new smartwatch that was specially designed to cater to the little ones.
Yes sir, anything that has to do with the world of consumer electronics would be sensitive enough – so to place such equipment in the hand of children? That might be suicidal to some, but not for Haier as they must have figured out a way to toughen up these timepieces.
The Haier Smartwatch for children will come with a 0.96” OLED display as well as a two-day battery life, and not only that, it has been deemed to be waterproof to up to 30m. I would personally take that with a pinch of salt – water resistant would be more like it, as an actual waterproof watch would cost a bomb – and what would your child be doing 30 meters down in the water in the first place at such a young age?
Arriving in a range of colors as well as boasting of a microphone and speaker in order to help them make calls, there is also a dedicated red SOS button which will enable one to send an alert to up to three different numbers just in case there is an emergency.
