We heard a few weeks back that Google might bring over its auto insurance quote comparison tool, which is already available to users in the United Kingdom, across the pond to the United States. The company didn’t confirm or deny this at the time but today it has made it clear that the tool is indeed arriving to the U.S. Google Compare is now available for drivers in California who can use it to compare auto insurance quotes and even buy the right car insurance straight through Google’s tool.
Google has a separate website up for this purpose however people who search for insurance related terms in Google Search will get to see options regarding quotes and comparisons.
They then have to punch in their zip code, details about the car and some other information so that Google Compare can pull in quotes from a few insurance providers.
Those who find a quote they’re happy with can click through straight to the insurance provider’s website where they can sign up. Google does provide a reference number and a phone number for people who would much rather complete the purchase over the phone.
Google Compare only supports California right now but the company promises that it will be expanded to other states in the very near future.
