It has only been a couple of weeks since the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were formally unveiled in Barcelona by Samsung. The company will start shipping units from April 10th. Lots of fans are anxiously waiting for that date to come. Those who like to root their devices should rest assured as a Galaxy S6 root has already been prepped. Chainfire has updated his popular CF-Auto-Root tool so that it aid users to root Galaxy S6 as soon as they can get their hands on one.

There is just one caveat though. CF-Auto-Root is only going to work with Galaxy S6 units that have an unlocked bootloader. Units with locked bootloaders can not be rooted with this tool and people who get them will have to wait until another method is created.

Chainfire tested the new version of CF-Auto-Root on a retail Galaxy S6 unit. Only incremental changes were required to achieve root. The updated CF-Auto-Root has already gained support for T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge which carry model numbers SM-G920T and SM-G925T.

Keep in mind though that most carriers will sell units with locked bootloaders so you will need an exploit first before the device can be rooted. If you have purchased an unlocked and international variant of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge then the updated CF-Auto-Root will certainly work with your device.
