A fortnight ago Samsung started rolling out the much awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy S5 owners in Canada. Carriers like Bell and Kodoo were quick to inform their customers that the Lollipop update was arriving for their Samsung flagship. However the roll out had to be halted because users experienced certain issues with the device. Today the Galaxy S5 is receiving an updated Lollipop build in Canada.
Some of the issues that Galaxy S5 users in Canada faced after updating to Android 5.0 Lollipop were force closures of apps, random freezing of the screen and even unusual battery drain.
This obviously meant that the update had to be pulled and it was. Now almost two weeks later Samsung has released an updated build which has also received the green light from carriers.
Besides including everything that Lollipop has to offer the latest update for Galaxy S5 model number SM-G900W8 brings crucial bug fixes for all of the problems that users had been facing. The build was put together on March 10th so its relatively new as far as firmware builds go.
The update has now started rolling out over-the-air to Galaxy S5 owners in Canada. A notification should pop up on their device when the OTA is ready for download.
