Late last year there were some indications that Samsung would release the Galaxy Note 2 Lollipop update at some point in 2015. Most of the company’s high-end devices have already made the jump to Android 5.0 and now Samsung is turning its attention towards mid-range and some of its older compatible devices. Galaxy Note 2’s fate reportedly still hangs in the balance as Samsung hasn’t even started developing the update for this device.

The report comes from the folks at Sammobile, who have a pretty solid track record for all things Samsung, their insiders reveal that Samsung has not even started development of the Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 2.

In December last year Samsung Finland had confirmed that the Galaxy Note 2 will receive an update to Lollipop. It was listed among all devices that Samsung will bring up to the latest iteration of Android.

Samsung has not said a word about the Lollipop status for Galaxy Note 2 since last year. Even after this report there has been no confirmation or denial by Samsung about the Galaxy Note 2 Lollipop update.

The report also talks about Android 5.1. Apparently Samsung hasn’t started working on the Android 5.1 update for all compatible devices. Google only released the latest version of Lollipop a couple of weeks back so it makes sense why Samsung hasn’t got the balling rolling just yet.
