If you’re the user of the OnePlus One or maybe you’re in India and you’re using the Micromax Yureka handset, you might be interested to learn that Cyanogen has recently revealed that they are getting closer to releasing the L update which basically brings your phone up to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.
The update begun wider testing earlier this year in January and we guess testing has gone pretty well as the developers appear to be getting ready for a rollout to the masses. No specific date on when the update will be making its way onto handsets, but it has been estimated that it should arrive in the next few weeks, so we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for more info.
We should note that following the dispute between Cyanogen and OnePlus in India, those with the OnePlus One handset in India will most likely not be able to get their hands on the latest update which means you would have to turn to custom ROMs if you’re looking to get your Lollipop fix, which we guess is a little ironic.
The latest build of Android 5.x is Android 5.1 which was recently announced and has made its way onto several Nexus devices. No word on when Cyanogen will get to work on Android 5.1 but we suppose getting the Android 5.0.1 update is still a good thing.
