Chevrolet’s Teen Driver Mode Helps Parents To Keep Tabs On Their Children

When it comes to teenagers and mistakes while driving, both of them happen to go hand in hand – like two peas in a pod. After all, it is to be expected – nobody actually masters a particular skill just like that without having to go through some sort of mistakes, it is but the natural order of things. Well, Chevrolet has come up with a brand new nanny mode that they call “Teen Driver”, which will hopefully ensure that teens behind the wheel will not end up with too much trouble.

This particular Teen Driver feature will make its way over to the new 2016 Chevy Malibu, where it will help teen drivers make smarter decisions. For starters, the radio will be automatically muted should the front seat drivers not wear their seat belts. I wished it would be more “strict” in the sense of the word, by not allowing the car to start at all.

Apart from that, Teen Driver will also enable parents to place limits on the car, such as being associated with a specific key fob so that their once-little ones will not have the power to disable safety features – stability and traction control, park assist, daytime running lights, and blind spot monitoring included. There is also the ability to limit the maximum speed from 40 to 75mph, now how about that? Hopefully all that video games played over the years would have helped teens be a better driver…
