This isn’t to say that the headphones can’t be used with Android devices, it’s just that they’d only be good as a pair of headphones and nothing more. The good news is that if you were after Android compatibility, Bose has recently announced that the QC25 headphones will now have an Android compatible variant as well.
Essentially this means that the inline remote control and microphone should play nicely with Android handsets and tablets. Its pricing will remain the same at $300 but for those looking to customize the design of their headphones will have to pay more. Some notable changes Bose made to the headphones from the QC15 is the need for a battery in order for the headphones to work.
However with the QC25, the headphones will continue to function even if the batteries are dead as the batteries are only used for the noise-cancelling feature. Bose has also reportedly improved upon the noise-cancellation feature thanks to the use of internal and external microphones to help sense and cut out unwanted noise.
