We all have questions we’d like to have answered and doing a quick search on the internet sometimes takes us to websites like Yahoo Answers where questions are asked and answered by the community. Sometimes it’s helpful, sometimes it’s not, but for the most part it is enough to give you a rough idea.
Now early this year there was talks about Microsoft launching a similar service of their own and it looks like the landing page for that service has been revealed. Dubbed Bing Distill, it appears that this could be Microsoft’s answer to Yahoo Answers where questions can be asked by anyone on the internet, and the community can then choose to give an answer to their queries.
This isn’t Microsoft’s first attempt at a Q&A-like website. Previous Microsoft had launched a service called Windows Live QnA but for some reason that did not pan out, so hopefully Bing Distill will yield better results. A formal announcement of the service has yet to be made by Microsoft and based on the website it looks like it might still be in beta.
Bing Distill is not open to the public yet but those who are interested can go ahead and request for an invite. Hopefully at this stage we won’t have to wait too long to hear more about the upcoming service from Microsoft.
