If you’re trying to get a game of Battlefield Hardline going on your Xbox One and you’re wondering why you are unable to connect, you might be interested to learn that this is not an issue with your connection, but rather an issue with the Battlefield servers which have apparently been hit with a DDoS attack.
This has been confirmed by the Battlefield Hardline Twitter account who wrote, “We’ve identified the connectivity issues on Xbox One are due to DDoS attack and working to resolve. Apologies for the inconvenience.” The team are currently working to resolve it which hopefully won’t take too long. If you read this post and are able to log into the game and play without any issues, then chances are it has been resolved.
It should be noted that this is currently only affecting Xbox One gamers so if you’re playing from your PC or the PlayStation 4, then hopefully you should not have any problems. So far it seems that as far as launch issues and connectivity is concerned, Battlefield Hardline has had a much smoother launch compared to Battlefield 4 which was marred by bugs and problems right out the gate.
That being said it could be that EA’s decision to stagger the release of the game via its EA Access trial could account for the smoother launch. In any case we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information but hopefully the connectivity problems will go away in the next couple of hours.
