htc-one-review-m8-labshot-21It has been a couple of months since AT&T had promised HTC One M7 users that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update would be headed their way, and while it has been a bit of a wait, we suppose it’s better late than never, right? According to a recent tweet by HTC’s Mo Versi, he confirmed that the update has been approved and will be making its way to users starting tomorrow.

Now if you do not see the update tomorrow, fret not as we expect that the updated will be rolled out in stages, so if you don’t get it tomorrow you probably will within the week. In the meantime it looks like AT&T is quite late to the party as other carriers such as Sprint have already pushed out the update to their version of the handset.

We should remind you guys that the Android 5.0 update will probably be the last major Android update that the HTC One M7 will see. This is according to HTC who confirmed that the One M7 will not be updated to Android 5.1 or later, although a recent outcry from HTC’s customers had them reconsider it, although this is not a guarantee that they will change their minds, so if you’re still hanging onto the HTC One M7, perhaps you’ll have to turn to custom ROMs if you want to get the latest Android updates.
