Apple Could Ship 3 Million Watches At First
Now that all of the dust has settled where the first smartwatch from Apple is concerned, what is your take on it? Do you think that the Apple Watch, what with the $10,000 special edition on your wrist, is worth wearing, or even purchasing in the first place? Having said that, here are some details concerning the Apple Watch’s production and supply – which might be a rough indicator as to what kind of expectations that Apple has for the handset, with whispers of Cupertino planning an initial shipment of 3 million units. In fact, that seems to be a rather conservative figure, especially when one compares it to the previously bandied about figures of 5 to 6 million units.
Having said that, it seems that chief manufacturer Quanta happens to be suffering from a worker shortage, and is allegedly hiring huge numbers of workers to keep up with the production pace – by the thousands, apparently. Old timer Foxconn (relatively speaking) is also being said to be roped in for the Apple Watch production. At the end of it all, do bear in mind that the number of Apple Watches shipped does not automatically equate to the number of devices sold – there is a stark difference. Do you think Apple will do well in this department?
