If you think Amazon’s one-click ordering system makes it very easy to purchase things from the online retail giant then Dash Buttons will certainly make you think otherwise. Announced today, the Dash Buttons will let you order products with simply one press of a button. You don’t need to pull out your smartphone, laptop or tablet for it to work. No need to launch the Amazon app or website. Just press the button and your order will be placed.
The Dash Buttons come after Amazon launched the Dash remote scanning device last it. The device allowed people to order products by either scanning barcodes or speaking in Dash’s microphone.
Each button will order one specific item. A Dash Button for Tide will order just that, initially Amazon is providing 18 buttons tied to 18 different products, they include staples like paper towels, coffee and even baby food.
According to Amazon it won’t be charging customers for these buttons, and it says that the battery will last for a couple of years. Currently Dash Buttons are only being given out through invitations. Amazon will provide a maximum of three buttons to each customers to begin with.
Amazon may expand this program if the initial results are good.
